Sabarimala - Pilgrimage

To Reach Pamba you can get down at the Nearest Railway Station - Chenganur.
Outside Railway Station you can find frequent buses to Pamba of Kerala RTC.
Distance from Chenganur to Pamba = 92 kms
Fare :58 Rs

After Reaching Pamba you can take viry and Have bath (Facing East Dip 3 Times ) and Get started for the Chinna Padam (Trekking) which is 8-9 Kms takes 2-3 Hrs.

Start the Holy Trek, No other mode of transport is there to reach Ayyappa (Sabarikonda), you have to pass Neelimala which is little steep. Chinna padam is negligible before Pedda Padam (Pedda Padam- starts from Erumeli to Pamba covering a distance of about 80 kms)
All Items are transported either by human or Donkeys.
For Aged there are also Dories which Carry them to sabarimala to pamba ( to and fro) they charge 450 - 600 Rs

Trekking leads to a line which comes here before homakundam (ever burning with Ghee carried coconuts after taking out ghee for abishekham).Break a coconut here and the next is to climb the padunttambadi with Irumudi on your head.
